Welcome to 7th Grade Science and Information & Technology!
Course Dates: Monday, June 2 - Friday, August 22
This course will satisfy credits in both 7th Grade Science and Information & Technology. A detailed description of course topics and objectives is outlined in the course syllabus.
*Please take a moment to watch the website navigation and welcome message at the bottom of this page A few necessary pieces of equipment will be required for class communication. For this course you will need: -a computer with internet access -headphones or speakers -occasional use of a web cam and microphone -on line text book (see the on line text tab on this website for more information) The course will be broken into 4 units. Each unit is broken into a series of lessons. Each lesson will last for 2 weeks. Lastly, each lesson is broken into 3 types of activities. In the "Learn" categories you may watch an online lecture, read from text (digital and print), and be introduced to main ideas of the lesson. In the "Explore" category, you will further examine the lesson's topics through websites, peer discussion and a variety of other media. Finally, the "Create" component will ask you to exhibit the knowledge you have gained through many types of projects, assessments, written expression, and presentations. Each unit will also require you to communicate with your fellow classmates through discussion boards and unit projects. Another component of this class will be your Lab Journal. This is a Google Document in which certain assignments will be completed. The Lab Journal will also provide a means of communication between you and the instructor.
